Ah, just some random heavily textured thing finished at two in the morning from yours truly. It's sort of neat though because it kind of looks like a picture of graffiti. 8O RIGHT?

I often like to draw Superman just... grinning. He can't help it. He loves everybody. <3 I've also been sucking at drawing his face as of late so I wanted to practice a bit, except I'm fine with profiles, so... I don't know why this is here. : / All I know is that I liked it and wanted to share. YEY.

Dear Harseik,

this comment is very long. But this deviation practically screamed for it.
It's practically perfect in almost every way.

I love those textures; they give such a unique tinge to it, something urban, graffiti-esque (mission accomplished xD), something vintage and oldschool, and yet some, how can I say, otherworldly, glowing, effect.
I especially like those places where it looks like it has been outside for a long time and it has been cold outside and a crusty, in some places cracked frost pattern lies over it.
And those grey-ish "dirty wall" in the background, and the places where the colour is "smeared"...

Ah, those colours and lines! You already know you are really good with lines, but this one is outstanding even for your standards.
And the colours! They are vibrant, yet toned down and give off a glowing vibe, like some kind of vision or something.
I really like the blues blending into black, and the "blue over red" effect, as well as the "unfinishedness" of the S-symbol and the cape - it makes it so... I don't know, lifelike? Urban? Outstanding?
The play of shadow and light is just right for this piece, and the hair - it's so... classic.
If I had one thing to nag about, it would be a tad more brightness and blue-ness in the eyes - type Kryptonian, unearthly Blue of happiness - , but that's about it.

And, yes, this is Superman.
I know there are many other deviations of Supes, in dynamic poses, flying, being all heroic - but this is the one that, for me, says "Superman" like almost nothing else.
Maybe it's that you got the look down to the point.
Maybe it's that you get his character and that your pictures of him give off this nice feeling of overall happiness and idealism.
Maybe it's that he's just smiling, and looking at something, and being overall himself.
Maybe it's the fact that I know that he's not being cool or trendy or grimdark, but just being classic Supes with classic red panties over his tights. I just know they are there.

Whatever it may be, I think this deviation is one of the most perfect depictions of Superman - of Clark Kent - out there, and I want to thank you for sharing it with us. It really makes my day, no matter which one, a lot brighter everytime I look at it.

Funny what amazing stuff can happen at two in the morning, aye? ;)

Also, I apologise for this long comment full of... wait, actually, no, I don't apologise.
You deserve to hear how awesome you are and have a pat on the back.

I hope something wonderful may happen to you one of these days~

... Wh-whoa. I don't think I could begin to comment on every detail you have delicately illustrated, because not even I was able to see even half of the things you sensed in this drawing, but that's art for you. The magic of individual interpretation en all.

Everything's always more glorious at 2 in the morning, ain't it? LOL But this was a very encouraging message. I couldn't thank you enough for the warm wishes. If fate is fickle, I hope the wonderfulness bounces off of me and sticks to you! *Hugs right back.*

You're welcome, I love doing that sort of stuff~

I just think if a piece of art is really good, the artist deserves to hear how and why. After all, everyone benefits from - and I quote you here - "the magic of individual interpretation".

Yay^^ Wonderful days to everyone =D :glomp:

Jesus! Every tinge you draw superman he looks like a god! I luv it! If he was real I would imagine myself just trying to get into trouble so he could come to my rescue.
