I copy others to feel ALIVE. Everyone else has their own "race". I want one too. T.T

After that meme, I've been inspired to draw more stuff. Here's something I'm working on at the moment. This design is a part of the story Silym and I are collaborating on.

Seiks are a lizard-like people and, like humans, are capable of vast intelligence. Although they travel faster on four legs, they can stand on two. They heavily differ from other races since all Seiks are asexual both mentally and physically. Although they have strong bonds and friendships, Seiks don't feel "romantic" love towards one another. Plus, they don't have any reproductive organs. Seiklings are born in massive rookeries, and because there are no parents, they are raised by the community as a whole.

I'm still not sure where the babies come from though. I know! How about storks? xD Please tell me if you have any ideas.

This is a male Seik. Females are less muscular, have smaller chins, and have perked ears. Both genders have a pair of large wings that come out from the humps behind their shoulders. This one is a "bald" rendition of a Seik; they can have feathers, scales, spikes, frills, fur, fins, and other custom features depending on the type of Seik.

Originally the concept didn't have a shell covering the head. I'm not totally sure if I'm gonna keep it that way. It looks really cool, but it would be hard to give them expressions without any visible eyes. Maybe they use a lot of body language or something. Hrmm...

I colored him red and white, but after playing with the colors, green and white came out looking better. Hehe.

I'm a late comer who just found your work and hasn't gone through your gallery yet, so I don't know if you've gone anywhere with the Seik, but you were asking for ideas on how they could reproduce if they don't have genders. My idea: plants. They're actually born from the spores of some sort of plant, but the plants need very specific conditions to live, so the Seik care for the plants and make sure they don't die off. And mebbe when the Seik die, a new plant grows from their body or something?

i feel the same way about charectors....
This is very nice. Reminescint of a xenomorph, almost. If you want more expression I would definetly loose the shell, unless you use a lot of ear and lip movement to portray emotion.
As for the babies, how about one carries little pouches of like DNA or soemthing inside them, and when they die the 'pups' or whatever eat their way out and come out youngsters? IDK having no reproductive organs makes this pretty crippling....Then again you can always say that the species was created in tubes, so new ones were grown (perhaps by aliens?) and are released when they mature?

... what about mitosis? I'm not sure what the "personality" of the species on a whole is, but perhaps the ones that get really large split into a dominant and subdominant one. That way, they would have a very hierarchical society based on age, and maybe there would be a few families of Seik, to which all Seik would belong... and when the original died off, some battle for succession takes place.

I've been fantasizing too much about mafias recently. = w =}

Cool design, but how do they see?

I'm loving the feet and ears! As for reproduction, maybe they could be like the New Mexico whip-tail lizards, where it's an all female race but they are still capable of laying fertile eggs.

Maybe they're like Xenomorphs where they can see out of the shell, but you can't see into it - kinda like a one-way mirror. I haven't quite figured that out yet.

I'm still wanting to keep two genders. I also want them in giant litters. Maybe the whole "queen" thing would work. Then they'd be more Xenomorphy than originally intended. xD
