EDIT: It's not really a bandanna, I swear. S'just a toga thing.
This is what I'll probably be using for the Trinity + Hal comic, but no one should be surprised if it gets tweaked later. I don't want to take credit for the skirt idea, so here's where it came from: [link] I wish I knew who drew it. It was just sitting in my superhero folder for the longest time. [Edit: Found out the artist. Frank Quitely. Eeyaaay!] I think making the skirt look like a legit American flag was brilliant, plus, it's way easier to draw than the leather skirt. As for the tiara, I was sort of going for a laurel look, and I thought sandals were kinda cool so I cut off half her shoe at the last second. Don't look at the toes. They suck. I'm still practicing feets. .__.
I wasn't really trying to overplay her warrior vibe - she came out pretty fierce on her own. I think I'mma roll with it then. Oh, as usual I'm open to criticism regarding the design, the anatomy, the scary bicep, anything that bothers you!
*Is jelly of her radiant tan.*
Spoiler: Invisible plane's back, babeh. :3
First let me say I saw your final design, loved it. But I love this even more. And I know people have an opinion about her not having a tiara, I say she's doesn't NEED a tiara. I've seen a LOT of concept designs, but this one is top notch from the theme to the expression.
Allow me to rant for a minute when I say I am frustrated with DC and how they've done Diana over the years. They hit with Superman, they hit with Batman, but they continue to miss with her ESPECIALLY when it comes to costume design. She's a freakin AMAZON, and you have captured that with this concept. Hats off too you, and it's going in my favs.
Specially the tan, she looks great like that <3
she impressive of beauty and irradiate power dommage she hate Illuminati lol
fantastique Draw Madame
And honestly, I think the cowgirl vibe kinda works with her. I mean, her main weapon is a lasso, after all.
Like the muscular build. Not a bodybuilder's muscles that are made huge and bulky and unwieldy, but a warrior or soldier's body. Fit, compact, agile but will still beat your ass if she has to. Awesome.
I like the sandals (the toes look fine btw), the gauntlets and the laurel/tiara. Not so hot on the colors (being a fan of the gold opposed to the silver) but you definitely make it work.
Love the nice tan she's got! Very evocative of a warrior who has trained for hours in the sun and also adds a little exotic element to her look (she is a Greek Amazon after all)
I'm going to contradict myself here and say while I love her long, untamed hair that really adds to the wild, fierce look, it might be a bit too long and get in the way. Then again, Batman manages to avoid tripping over his cape so why not? They're superheroes. They specialize in that sort of thing
All in all, a great piece. Can't wait to see what else you come up with!
HRRMMM, a messy bun might look cool, to keep that crazy mane out of her eyes while she's in combat. Thanks for the ideas! :]
Aaaah, haha, oops. In the image's original resolution she has strong dark blue eyes, like a deep sea color. Looks like they turned black upon resizing. Dangit. xD
Thank you so much for the input.
The tiara actually came off as war paint for a moment which is also cool. The hankerchief around her neck does make me think of a cowboy but for some reason I feel like that fits. You know, us Americans got cowboys. ;D Her skirt is also and I wish we knew who thought of it first. D: Her stance is fierce and gives off that powerful atmosphere that says "Don't miss with me; I'm a warrior princess like XENA"
There are two kinds of looks that "fit" Wonder Woman to me, fierce and regal. This is a great fierce look for her.
Very nicely done over all!
Love the open-toed boots, and the armor is nice n' sleek.
What I love the most is that she actually LOOKS greek!
The, um...toga shoulder is cool, and with the whole covering the left breast is actually a cool throw-back to how in myth Amazonians would cut off their left breasts in order to make drawing the bow easier and more accurate.
A personal peeve is that she lost a lot of her fun eagle motifs and stars. That, and the Laurel-Tiara thingie is a bit too small.
That'd actually be a cool chance to add a eagle-motif, by widening the Laurel and adding metal feathers, which in turn also looks like Laurel leaves.
Oh yeah, I was definitely inspired by Greek togas. And now I'm glad I remembered which side to drape it over. xP
Thanks a million for the rad idea.
