Congruency in music can happen very easily when you're dealing with overwhelmingly popular themes like "fire", "gamers rise up", and "together we are stronk" in your story. Additionally, anything that mentions deserts, storms, light in the dark, trials, scars, burning, armor, memories, warriors/war, Christian iconography, and struggling against adversity, I'm all like:
"The radio people are speaking to me."
There's an extinct doo-wop band called "The Firesiders". That's so magical. I bookended the playlist with two of their pieces and I would argue the 144p quality is an aesthetic.
Collected for posterity's sake, the following is my "So Relevant that I Suspect Psychic Copyright Infringement" music list.
YouTube playlist for easy listening.
"No One Cares For Me" by the Firesiders
"Trials(reimagine)" by STARSET <- INSANELY accurate. I'mma sue you, Starset.

You are absolutely encouraged to share music from your own stories and/or themes for your original characters in the comments. I'll listen and respond to all of it, because talking to you about your own stories and what inspires them will always be my favorite thing. C:
Commissions are officially open! Head over to my submission dedicated to the subject. A few changes to consider are efforts to make my business more centralized around a my website, a new email address (DHendersonArt@outlookcom), new prices, and heck - even a new render style.
I have several people here on dA who have tried to contact me during my hiatus, as well as clients with reservations they've been hanging onto for almost a year. In most cases it's been forever and a half, so if there's a chance that any of those individuals are still interested in doing business, I warmly invite you to reestablish contact.
Definitely mulling over a discount to celebrate the reopening - stay tuned in!
I'd like to keep the personal update short and sweet because let's face it - stuff's boring, but let's jump into it.
For the past year I was working at a movie theater in Odessa, Texas. I had a great experience there, but due to the city-wide over surplus of jobs that aren't related to oil, I was working full time at a part time job. Dude, this was awesome for employees who needed the hours, but freelancing became unfeasible when faced with such long hours and an ever-changing schedule. Never mind finished art pieces - it was hard to even make a daily doodle. This is also why I haven't been on social media in general. Simply no time or energy.
My time at the theater came into question when my beloved uncle went to meet the Lord in December. Volunteering as a caregiver, I was allowed to board with my aunt and uncle at their senior/assisted living apartment complex, but once I was unable to be a caregiver, I was no longer qualified to stay and had six months to leave, and in overcrowded oil cities like Midland and Odessa, I barely had a chance of affording a hole in the ground, let alone an apartment.
And so, my stint in Texas was incredible, albeit short-lived. I'm back in Arizona, with a reinvigorated desire to set my skills in motion and really invest in my career. Perhaps you have noticed the increased prices? For the first time I will actually be freelancing for minimum wage, which is a step in the right direction toward taking my craft with the sincerity and thoughtfulness that a personal business requires. A fairly compensated Hark is a peaceful Hark who doesn't have to worry about her car payment, so I hope the changes are understandable.
I would love to catch up some more with you cool guys and gals gracious enough to read this far, but time waits for no bird, and I must continue my nest building. Thank you for your audience, as well as your custom. Until next time!
